Cool Things On Our Radar This Month

New year, new stuff! We all deserve some retail therapy to kick off 2020. A globetrotter carry-on to travel in style, a pattern-printed canvas collection to trot around “well”noticed, a snake-like pen for those who avoid speaking with a forked tongue and a shirt that pays tribute to a great music icon… Here’s a round-up of cool things we’ve spotted lately, unintentionally in tones of red, black, gray and white, just because, why not?

Rimowa Original Twist

The cabin-sized, anodized-aluminum Rimowa Original Twist, distinguished by red accents, is a carry-on that combines luxury with functionality. Its high-gloss aluminum corners and handmade leather handles add a touch of cool elegance to this travel companion. If you’re more daring, you might prefer the Original in Scarlet, in a captivating hue inspired by the fiery red plumage of the South American scarlet Ibis bird.

Available at: The Dubai Mall, MoE and on www.rimowa.com

Montblanc Heritage Collection, Rouge et Noir, Serpent Marble Writing Instrument

The latest addition to Montblanc‘s Heritage Collection, Rouge et Noir, Serpent Marble is based on an original writing instrument from the 20s. Back then, it was dubbed “Red Ripple” for its original coral marble pattern and rubber material. With the marble effect as inspiration, the new edition features a metal cap and barrel with a lacquered marble finish, created with a water transfer, giving every writing instrument its very own pattern, making each one unique. The platinum-coated serpent -a nice and friendly one, we assure you- pays tribute to a 1920s Montblanc pen clip. Our pick: the fountain pen, for real old-school vibes!

‘HUGO Loves Bowie’ Capsule Sweatshirt by Hugo

Hugo recently released a limited-edition ‘Hugo Loves Bowie’ capsule that pays tribute to the late music icon David Bowie, his inimitable style and cool demeanor. The capsule, designed for men and women, combines essentials with statement pictured or slogans in a signature palette of black, red and white. Our favorite is this white sweatshirt featuring 12 photographs of Bowie shot by Masayoshi Sukita for the cover of his 1977 album ‘Heroes’. Bowie’s undeniable impact on the worlds of music and fashion remains timeless, and the ‘Hugo Loves Bowie’ collection brings those two passions together.

Available: on Hugoboss.com, in Hugo Stores & selected partner retailers worldwide

Berluti Signature Canvas

A first for Berluti, the Signature is the brand’s first pattern canvas printed with a Berluti seal. For this new creation, Artistic Director Kris Van Assche combined a pattern canvas with the brand’s hand-patinated Venezia leather. Drawing inspiration from the archives, he conceived a motif merging Berluti’s new logo and the undulating strokes of the iconic Scritto, printed over a black background in shades of slate and lead grey. We love the vintage luggage look!

Available at: The Dubai Mall and MoE

Granted, you might not really need these items. But, they’re definitely ones you want. Or perhaps ones you can add to your non-Valentine’s wishlist? Either way, happy shopping!
