Watches & Wonders 2020: Vacheron Constantin

For 2020 Vacheron Constantin has done things right. The Swiss watchmaker has presented interesting novelties in their key collections, Fifty-Six, Overseas, and Traditionelle.

Overseas Ultra-Thin Skeleton Perpetual Calendar

Building on its travel DNA the Overseas collection welcomes a new addition, the Skeleton Perpetual Calendar. It features an ultra-thin openworked complication movement and is available in 18K full-gold version. This 41.5mm timepiece is home to the prestigious Calibre 1120 QPSQ, which combines an extraordinary aesthetic with Haute Horlogerie values.

Vacheron Constantin is greatly appreciated by collectors for its accuracy and this model is no exception. The perpetual calendar will not need any adjustment before March 1st, 2100, neither for the day, date, and month indications and the moon phases.

Aimed at a younger audience, the FiftySix collection is a full-fledged line that has been evolving since its inception in 2018. This year the retro-contemporary collection adopts a new sepia brown-toned dial color that will grace the Fiftysix complete calendar and Fiftysix self-winding models.

They will be available in 40 mm diameter 18 carats 5N pink gold cases paired with a brown calfskin strap. A skillful blend of styles and eras for these two models, which are equipped with an openworked 22 carats gold oscillating weight, whose design is inspired by the shape of the Maltese cross.

Traditionelle Tourbillon Chronograph

Vacheron Constantin is synonymous with complications and the new Traditionnelle tourbillon chronograph is one of the brand’s best tourbillon to date. Placed at 12 o’clock the tourbillon is complimented with a monopusher chronograph paying tribute to the history of Haute Horlogerie and reflect Vacheron Constantin’s technical mastery in the crafting of Grandes Complications.

As with all creations from the Maison, particular attention is lavished on the decorations and hand-finishing, whether the tourbillon carriage or the components of the in-house 3200 calibre.
