While we expected a year without novelties at Tudor, the brand still managed to present something new. Tudor is expanding its Black Bay Fifty-Eight range with a blue dial version on a 39 mm satin-finished case, an in-house caliber and a power reserve of 70 hours.

The Black Bay Fifty-Eight, which was presented for the first time in spring 2018, has everything to seduce, on one hand, vintage lovers, and on the other hand clients with smaller wrists.

This diver watch with vintage origins boasts a domed grained blue dial that pays homage to the first blue dials from Tudor which appeared on the market some fifty years ago. Its Snowflake hands and indexes are covered with grade A Super-luminova and protected by a domed sapphire crystal.

In 1969, TUDOR introduced a divers’ watch with a blue dial and bezel. The other sports watches in the collection were soon attired in blue, immediately creating a lasting aesthetic hallmark known as “TUDOR Blue”. Adopted by the French navy for its TUDOR divers’ watches during the 1970s, this livery became part of the collective imagination.

The Black Bay Fifty-Eight “Navy Blue” follows in this tradition with its navy-blue dial and bezel insert. This is a color that also appears on the “soft touch” strap offered with this model and made from a synthetic, tactile material resembling flannel.

The result of a subtle blend of traditional aesthetics and contemporary watchmaking, the Black Bay line is far from being just a re-release of an iconic model.
