Jaeger-LeCoultre impressed us with their Watches & Wonders line-up and apparently, they were not done. The Swiss watchmaker waited a little while and dropped a new generation of one of its most iconic models the Master Control Memovox.
Taking inspiration for the Memovox models of the 1950s, this new model does not forget where it comes from but also oozes style, utility, and charm. The Master Control Memovox Timer features a completely new alarm system designed that upholds Jaeger-LeCoultre’s claims, The Master of Sound.
The Manufacture’s engineers redesigned the original calibre, the calibre 956, and adapted it to the new case design. The watch now features a transparent sapphire caseback, allowing the wearer to enjoy watching the hammer in action.
Over the years the Memovox was released with different functions, ranging from world-time to parking-meter reminder. For the 2020 model, Jaeger-LeCoultre introduced a new function, the Timer.
The Timer allows the owner of the watch to set the alarm based on the number of hours that should elapse before the alarm rings. The alarm can also be set the alarm in the traditional way, based on a particular time. The indicators are linked so that whichever alarm-setting method is chosen, the second indicator will automatically move to the corresponding position.
The Memovox dial features two concentric rings in two shades of blue with a sunray finish, complemented by an inner ring engraved in bas-relief with polished numerals. The calibre is housed in a 40mm stainless steel case and has a 45-hour power reserve. The Master Control Memovox Timer will be produced in a limited edition of 250 pieces.
This watch is definitely a statement. Its color and design will definitely trigger conversations amongst aficionados and amateurs alike.
