LVMH Watch Week is back in a digital format this year and guests were treated to a unique virtual experience by each of the Maison’s CEO. For Bulgari, Jean-Christophe Babin tuned in from Rome to present all the novelties the Italian Maison is releasing this year.
BULGARI OCTO FINISSIMO S STEEL SILVERED DIAL
This rendition of the 2020 model still features one of the thinnest movements in the industry. This 40mm steel timepiece now offers a 100m meters water resistance, an automatic movement and a 6.4mm case. One of the particularities of this piece is the new the combination of satin-polished case with vertical-brished, monochromatic grey dial which gives it a unique look at the intersection of matte and shiny.
BULGARI OCTO FINISSIMO S CHRONOGRAPH GMT
The GMT version of the Octo Finissimo GMT include a handsome new blue sunray dial paired with silver indices and a larger screw-down crown for increased water resistance. It’s still powered by the incredibly cool, ultra thin caliber BVL 318 with peripheral rotor. The Octo Finissimo Chronograph GMT is 42mm wide and just 6.9mm thick, this new steel timepiece measures 43mm across and is 8.75mm thick.
BULGARI OCTO FINISSIMO CHRONOGRAPH GMT TITANIUM
The third novelty for 2021 is a new version of the Octo Finissimo Chronograph GMT Titanium, which is now available with a new dial and a rubber strap for a sportier look. The 42mm watch features automatic in-house chronograph and GMT ultra-thin caliber BVL 318 with peripheral rotor (3.30 mm) and has an overall thickness of 6.9 mm.
BULGARI OCTO ROMA CARILLON TOURBILLON
Last but not least is the Octo Roma Carillon Tourbillon. It houses a movement comprised of no less than 432 components and features a striking mechanism that sounds the time with a series of gongs. This 44 mm timekeeper uses three hammers fixed directly to the titanium body of the case. They are folded and formed by an expert craftsman before they are hardened at a temperature of 900 degrees. After, they are cleaned and then ironed in an oven at 500 degrees to give the metal a crystalline resonance.
As usual Bulgari never stand stills and always pushes the limit on what can be done, be it material, engineering or complications. That is why we are fans.
