Audemars Piguet reinterprets its heritage with the [Re]master01 Selfwinding Chronograph 40mm. Produced using the Manufacture’s latest technology, this chronograph offers a new dial design with increased legibility. Respecting the design cues from the original 1943 chronograph, the [Re]master01 features a round case and lugs in stainless steel, surrounded by a bezel, olive-shaped pushers and chamfered crown in 18K pink gold.
Its teardrop lugs highlight the curved two-tone hand-polished 40mm case which offers a clear view of the dial detailed work. The satin-brushed dial boasts a gold tone and stands out thanks to its black transferred hour markers, pink gold hour, minute and seconds hands, blue chronograph hands and a blue transferred tachymetric scale.
The dial features a pretty interesting detail, the 4/5 indication. It was requested by Audemars Piguet’s third-generation family-founder Jacques-Louis Audemars to indicate the half time of his favorite sport, soccer.
The [Re]master01 Selfwinding Chronograph’s movement is part of the newest generation of selfwinding chronograph mechanisms with column wheel and flyback function. It is meticulously finished and stands out with details such as its 22K pink gold oscillating weight decorated with “Clous de Paris”.
This is a watch that will get people talking and might be the source of heated conversations between watch aficionados.
