40 YEARS OF HUBLOT

Hublot is a brand that can be defined using one word, disruption. This statement was true in 1980 when the brand pioneering the rubber strap on a gold watch and it is no less true today. Hublot broke the codes and created its own vision of Haute Horlogerie, a vision that took the brand to where it is today.

To celebrate its 40th anniversary the brand has has revisited its 1980 Classic Original. It blends past and present as well as, horological tradition and technical innovation. Originally released with a Quartz movement the 2020 edition now boasts a mechanical one.

Available in a variety of materials, finishes and modern and classic technologies; the Classic Fusion 40 years anniversary collection is composed of three collectors’ models.This new Classic Fusion embodies the refinement of the 1980 Classic Original as well as four decades of ceaseless exploration and innovation.

The dial of this Classic Fusion is quite striking; featuring a black lacquered and polished dial is ultra-understated, only faceted hands, an applique Hublot and H logo. The 45 mm case, made from yellow gold, titanium or black ceramic and the six famous screws and a sapphire crystal case back, and sit on a timeless, easily adjustable rubber strap with a triple deployant clasp for added comfort and adding a contemporary look.

“These Classic Fusion models embody 40 years packed with technological advances and breaking with convention. Not content with simply reissuing the 1980 Classic Original, we have reinterpreted it to reflect the Hublot of today. One model with a mechanical movement in a 45 mm format for men. A brand-new contemporary version that celebrates Hublot’s innovative approach of the last forty years,” explained Ricardo Guadalupe, CEO of Hublot.

The brand was the first to associate gold and rubber at a time when the industry was stuck in a conservative bubble. These were the origins of the ‘Art of Fusion’, an exploratory approach to materials underpinned by technological research and a fearlessness that has characterised Hublot for 40 years.
