The Dubai Polo & Equestrian Club witnessed an afternoon of superb polo, a dazzling array of VIPs, La Martina’s autumn winter 2013 fashion show and a fabulous brunch to start the action filled event
The third annual event, the tournament had the privilege of the patronage of Her Royal Highness HRH Princess Haya Bint Al Hussein, wife of H.H Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the U.A.E & Ruler of Dubai and the support of exclusive luxury brands such as Maserati, Veuve Clicquot, Quintessentially, Terrazzo and Gaucho. The afternoon’s event was graced by dignitaries including His Excellency Ruben Eduardo Caro, the Ambassador of the Republic of Argentina, Ahmed and Zaid Al Khayyat, Directors, Al Khayyat Investments, Jonathan Knight, CEO of Al Khayyat Investments Retail Division, Laurent Cabioch, General Manager of Al Khayyat Investments Fashion & Lifestyle. On this occasion, Mr Zaid Al Khayyat said ‘’I’m extremely pleased to have La Martina apart of the Al Khayyat Investments Fashion portfolio. The La Martina Argentina Cup in association with the Embassy of Argentina is one of our most sought after events of the year for our Retail division and the Polo community. This year we are honored to have the cup under the patronage of HRH Princess Haya Bint Al Hussein Wife of HH Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai as well as the support of his excellency Ruben Eduardo Caro Ambassador of Argentina in the UAE, all the great sponsors, teams and patrons alike”.
The A list members of the premium private membership club Quintessentially turned out in full strength, making it one of the most memorable events in the UAE to start off the winter season. The afternoon was all about the exclusive sports of polo, glamorous and edgy fashion, exquisite gourmet food catered by the Dubai Polo & Equestarian Club and the finest beverages complimented by Veuve Clicquot, leaving the guests delighted at the exceptional quality of the La Martina event.
La Martina’s autumn/winter 2013 presented on a runway between the semi-final and the final match reinforced the brand’s on-trend, premium informal clothing line that oozed sportiness and elegance that will define this season’s look in the UAE. Widely recognized for their branded polo t-shirts, La Martina showcased this season’s wardrobe for men & women with a wide range of shirts, cardigans, jackets, trousers, jeans, and accessories crafted from the finest leather, a hallmark of La Martina. The collection also included jackets designed for Maserati and the Guards Polo Club. The afternoon ended with His Excellency Ruben Eduardo Caro, Zaid and Ahmed Al Khayyat congratulating the four teams for their excellence and sportsmanship as they awarded Bin Drai the coveted trophy, who had played against Ghantoot at the final match, with 8-6 win. Dr A was declared the second runners up, having beaten the Rhinos with 8-4.
