Jean-Frédéric Dufour will take office as CEO of Rolex on June 17, 2015, during the company’s Ordinary General Assembly and is expected to build on and grow his predecessor’s work and results. After building a sturdy career in the watch industry by working at Blancpain, Chopard, Ulysse Nardin and other brands, Dufour joined Zenith in 2009, moving the brand in a different direction and pushing it forward: he was credited for instituting a more classic approach to watchmaking by settling on simpler designs and more attainable prices. As the 6th CEO of Rolex, he will take over from Gian Riccardo Marini who had been CEO since 2011 after being director of Rolex Italy. With such an important overhaul of one of his previous brands, is Dufour planning a big change or any surprising developments for Rolex?
