Flowy bohemian, gridlock pattern, suede, denim, chiffon, white and white, florals, prints and fringes. These are the main styles and materials to prioritize in your new wardrobe.
Our favourite from Paule Ka this season is the fun yet classy Mexico theme! Pair the long black Cotton Poplin Skirt with the Mexico Print Jersey Top for the perfect balance of classical with a twist, fitting a day or night casual chic look. The range includes a jacquard line with white and blue cardigan, bolero, shorts and dress; red and white canvas straight skirt, print twill dress and jacquard cardigan, and lovely black and white print canvas long and short skirts, A-line dress, and jersey Tee-shirts that can be paired with shorts, pants or skirts. We also love the interesting mix of materials on this brass and leather necklace.
Michael Michael Kors gives the gypsy spirit a glamorous Mediterranean feel with the resort collection. White, mandarin and deep blue tunics, wide-leg pants, maxi skirts and flowing tops follow the season’s trends in tie-dye prints, stripes and embroideries. A fresh, yacht-perfect vibe.
We love the colourful jumper with gold buttons on this classical nautical outfit: striped navy-white top and white shorts. The matching brown belt and tote complement the look very well.
Flats have never gone out of style and Longchamp heightens the flats trend for Spring 2015 by revisiting the espadrille, an enduring staple of summer. The brand adds a sophisticated touch to the simple rope soles: the rope bottoms remain classical, while the uppers are hyped with luxurious materials and coloured with delicate pastel shades. The ankle straps are slender, keeping the footwear very feminine. The everlasting ballet flats are also brought forth in the new collection, offering an understated elegance. These totally adorable pastel pink and white “ballerines” are a must-have!
Mulberry explodes in colour with the Blossom Tote range, a nappa leather, roomy shopper in Hibiscus, Mandarin, Sea Blue and Jungle Green. The totes are complemented by a wide range of small leather accessories that we find absolutely charming: medium and small pouches for makeup or in-bag essentials, a zip-around wallet for cards and cash in two sizes, and the new Blossom Pochette, a compact mini-bag sporting a wrist strap, either worn either as a compact clutch or used as a pouch to hold essentials.
A less known brand in our region is Ethan K. Born into a long line of exotic skin artisans from Singapore, Ethan Koh carries on his family legacy. Using opulent crocodile and alligator leathers, he personally sources all materials used in producing his bags, ensuring that each is completely bespoke and unique. Worn by celebs and royalty such Elizabeth Hurley, Sheikha Mozah and singer Rita Ora, the bags make a defined fashion statement. The Midnight Magician collection introduced for SS2015 highlights the designer’s enchanting and whimsical world. Our pick: the Midnight Envelope Dragon Fly with its lucky charm dragon fly boucle and the very funky Rat & Cheese Minaudiere, a yellow clutch with a small silver rat on top of a piece of cheese as a clasp. Rather high-end and upscale, the clutches and bags transform a casual outfit into a chic ensemble.
Note from the editor: The featured (top) gorgeous black Michael Kors low-cut V-neck dress with magenta flowers is to die for, but unfortunately, we hear it probably won’t be available in the region. I love it so much I might just have to travel to the US to get it!
