Here’s a city that will definitely overwhelm you; whether you’re a citizen or a tourist, whether it’s your first or fifth visit, and whether you’re a jetsetter or a first time vacationer. The city has gathered up the best in entertainment, hospitality, and tourism from around the world and summed it all up into a city called: Dubai.
No tourist can escape being bitten by the Dubai luxury bug, and no matter what your plan or budget is, you will find yourself living like a VIP during your entire visit.
A great way to start is by booking your hotel. Watch out for special offers and discounts on online booking websites and you might just get lucky. If you’re looking for anything less than a 5 star, you’ve come to the wrong place. Dubai is known for its extravagant hotels and its infamous 7 star Burj Al Arab, so anything less than an over-the-top 5 star simply won’t suffice! A hotel that surpassed my expectations in every way is the Jumeirah Beach Hotel. This big wave-inspired structure is located right at the beach and is ideal for anyone who wants to spend some quality time sunning and relaxing. Although all Dubai hotels are top notch, only a few of them have their own private beach – and this was definitely a plus for me.
Not only is it massive in size with a whopping 617 sea-view rooms and over 20 restaurants, but its rooms are bigger than most suites I’ve slept in. The best part about my room was the view – what better way to wake up than to a view of the beach, ocean, the Burj al Arab, and the Palm all in one frame? Yes, I could see all of that as I was sipping a café latte in my room. The bathroom is almost as big as the room itself; with both a shower and a comfortable bathtub.
Every day after housekeeping was done with cleaning my room, I’d find some Godiva chocolate neatly placed on my pillow – and what a treat that was. Not only was housekeeping impeccably polite and professional, but the concierge helped me with all my reservations around the city, even at the most elite venues. I must say, it felt great to have everything so easily handed to me.
Aside to the comfort of my room, the hotel provides many facilities that I made sure to enjoy. For starters, Dubai is not complete without days spent on the beach. The hotel’s private beach was nothing less than exquisite; with clear turquoise waters and a beach butler answering to our every whim. As the sun became hotter, we were given complimentary popsicles that made the day so much sweeter.
If you’re not a beach person, you can sit by the pool and indulge in its tropical setting. As the sun begins to set, take a shuttle to a sister hotel, the Madinat Jumeirah Resort. The shuttle ride itself is breathtaking as you watch the sunset, feel the fresh breeze, and admire the charming architecture. As soon as you arrive to the Madinat Jumeirah Resort, you will feel as though you’ve landed in Venice. Enjoy a delicious dinner at Meat Co. as you watch the gondolas glide by over the sparkling water. While you’re there, don’t miss out on a sensual and relaxing massage at the renowned Talise Spa, where you can just disappear for hours into a magical private world.
Setting back to the Jumeirah Beach Hotel, you cannot miss out on a drink at the famous 360˚ bar, which has become a hub for tourists and people from all over Dubai. With a 360˚ view of the ocean, the hotel, and the city, you can enjoy a great evening listening to funky sounds and meeting new faces coming from all over the world.
