Friday brunches are a big Dubai… dare I say… “tradition”. Calm family brunches where the little ones can run around while the folks enjoy well deserved cocktails, boozy brunches gathering friends looking to get over a stressful work week, afternoon to night party brunches for hardcore party people; Dubai has it all. And when one of the hip evening hangout spots –Iris– takes on a colorful face during the day, you just have to check it out!
Iris’ Fridays Le Brunch is all about fire and knives… and colors! The menu was cooked up by the globetrotting chefs who have discovered new ingredients, tried different cuisines during their travels and brought back new tastes to add a twist to the brunch dishes. A multi-style barbecue to satisfy the biggest carnivores –us!- with all and everything grilled: burgers, ribs, steak, sausage, meat cubes, shrimp and chicken sizzling over fire, spreading an enticing aroma around the open-air terrace. Inside tip: ask for the truffle-mayo burger. We loved it!
Feeling raw and light? Go for it! Live salmon and tuna ceviche stations, a raw bar and scrumptious salad bars, bursting with all sorts of flavorful meats, fish, veggies and fruits, offer various options to choose from. A word of advice? Try them all.
And definitely leave space for dessert, because if that alluring sugary display doesn’t give you a sweet tooth, I don’t know what will! S’mores cups, chocolate and lemon tarts, banana toffee jars, red velvet gateau, carrot cake, red fruit sponge layers, and, for those who’d like to pretend they’re healthy (smirk), a variety of seasonal fruits to refresh your palate.
Food doesn’t go without drinks. Or at least that’s what we think. If you’re a cocktail fan, head to the fun Margharita Market, Bloody Mary Bar or Mojito Marquee stations where expert mixologists will blend, shake or stir a drink for you while you enjoy the ‘feelgood’ beats played by the Le Brunch DJs. You just might end up on your feet dancing into the sunset!
Different brunch packages are available: soft drink option, open bar, Prosecco on the go and open champagne. Smokers can also enjoy the open air. Have a cigar for us. Cheers!
