The Stirrup Lounge an Elite Experience at Dubai World Cup 2012

The most awaited event of Dubai city and the world’s most expensive annual horse race, Dubai World Cup 2012 received over 60,000 attendees this year, and we decided to PING it from a different perspective. The Stirrup Lounge located on the 5th floor of the Meydan Hote was one of the most happening suites introduced this year.

This new lounge is situated in a prime spot at the Meydan grandstand, central to all the action and directly above the paddock. The lounge was in partnership with Logsdail London, one of the world’s most elite producers of tailor-made suits. A nice elit by Stolichnaya ® Vodka bar was serving Martinis with a live experience where you can prepare your own drink with one of the world’s premium vodkas.

When the doors opened at 2:30 PM, people where welcomed with a lovely live band and delectable canapés. As the races were about to start, the lounge started getting busier. Dubai’s Elite were all joining in the lounge and the music couldn’t be any better, building up the evening with nice oldies like “My Funny Valentine”, “My Way”, “Strangers in the Night” and more.

Suites, Champagne and Dry were what we were experiencing as we lived the best event of the year in the city of life. At 8 PM, the DJ set off with cool commercial dance music. All the VIP guests were tipsy and happy, with some cheering for the winning horses and some demonstrating their anger at the losing ones. At 8:20 PM, HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum announced the Meydan 2012 celebrations, another surprising astonishing show that started with an impressive movie entitled One Day You Will Run, followed by an eye-catching synchronized animation on the huge LED screen with live dancers, before the fireworks show lit up the whole venue with jet planes flying through out the flames.

The show went on with the last race and the Stirrup Lounge was where the party place people were dancing and laughing with bars almost out of alcohol; but the elit by Stolichnaya ® Vodka was still pouring, serving Martinis with olives, onions and cherries, and we were one of the Dry Martini victims.

To summarize our experience, we started with the welcoming Jazz band, flowing champagne, afternoon tea and delicious array of classic Ivy dishes, and ended up partying in style with the city’s most Elite people.

Congratulations to Monterosso of the Godolphin operation of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashed al Maktoum for winning the Dubai World Cup 2012.
