Select UAE cigar aficionados and watch collectors were invited earlier this month to a ‘Forbidden’ evening at The Address Downtown’s Cigar Lounge to discover the long-awaited Fuente Forbidden X cigar by Arturo Fuente. This warm, lively evening took place on the eve of the international launch of the second Hublot and Fuente watch; in its quest to forge exciting collaborations with brands and ambassadors that share similar values, luxury watchmaker Hublot partnered with famed cigar brand Arturo Fuente two years ago with the King Power “Arturo Fuente” watch. To the delight of watch enthusiasts and cigar connoisseurs worldwide, a second chapter of this alliance was announced this year with the ForbiddenX: a never-seen before watch and a coveted new cigar. And where better celebrate this global ode to watches and cigars than Dubai, the luxury hub of the Middle East?
Hosted by Club Limitada and Hublot in partnership with Hennessy, Arturo Fuente Cigars, Virtuozity magazine and PINGDUBAI.com, what promised to be the region’s most prestigious cigar event also turned out to be the region’s most sought-after happening. Limited to thirty guests only, the club had to extend the invitation to almost double that number as the demand was unusually high, but was still ‘forbidden’ to many.
Guests who had the privilege to attend were amazed by the presence of the star of the night, Carlos “Carlito” Fuente Jr., grandson of Arturo Fuente and president of the brand, who shared his cigars, passions and positive energy with the group. In full high spirits and all smiles, they also enjoyed the company of Hublot CEO Ricardo Guadalupe, Hublot Middle East Regional Director Marco Tedeschi, and members of Ahmed Seddiqi & Sons, as well as the region’s well known watch collector Claude Sfeir.
Forbidden X, Opus X Lanceros, Rosado Grand Reserva and the Short Story Hemmingway cigars, all from Chateau de la Fuente, were perfectly paired with the exquisite Hennessy Cognac XO, leaving everyone with an enjoyable awakening of the senses.
