The day started with the revelation of the Dubai Design District at 2 pm and led on with shows from Lebanese designer Zayan Gandour, followed by Taller Marmo of designers Riccardo Audisio and Yago Goicoechea who caressed our eyes with elaborate and intricate works. The day continued with Saudi Arabian designer Aziz Humaid, Dubai-based Pakistani designer Amira Haroon, and Omani designers Lubna and Nadia Zakwani with their regal inspired line entitled Endemage.
The highlight of the evening however was by Amato, brainchild of Filipino designer Furne One, who showed how the Victorian era and samurai inspired workmanship can translate into an exhibition of pure genius. Every element of the show was breathtaking; from the dramatic scaffolding built right on the catwalk to the walking theatrics that the models adorned as their attire- it was the best collection of the week- bar none.
At 10pm Fashion Forward and Refined transformed the arena into a night gala infused with glitz and glamour filled with celebrities and the whole roster of designers from the four-day event to celebrate and toast to their success.
