Five years after “setting” its first Rendez-Vous, Jaeger-LeCoultre gives us a new Rendez-Vous with the “Moon“, “Sonatina” and “Night & Day“. Since its introduction back in 2012, the collection bears the hallmarks of the brand’s Métiers Rares™: minutiously accurate timekeeping, unparalleled craftsmanship excellence and marvelous jewellery designs and settings. This year, just before the 2017 SIHH, Rendez-Vous celebrates horology designed for women, with understated sophisticated materials and sparkling tones speaking to a lady’s elegance and refinement. The new timepieces introduce a moon phase, a new chiming reminder function, yellow and rose gold options, a larger size and lovely matte colored straps inspired by the constantly changing hues painted by the sun and the moon, from dusk till dawn.
The Rendez-Vous Night & Day, under its new light, is available in three sizes, different materials choices, and straps of steel, ostrich or alligator leather in a variety of colors that match different moments of a woman’s day. The Rendez-Vous Night & Day Large, with its larger than ever 38.2mm case, allows the changing of straps and buckles to one’s preference, alternating between a subtle steel version with a steel or a leather strap, or a more feminine rose gold version set with brilliant cut diamonds and available with an ostrich leather strap. The Rendez-Vous Night & Day Medium presents yellow gold, used in the collection for the first time. The yellow gold case, bezel, lugs and buckle, coupled with a pink strap, embody the ultra-feminine sartorial statement.
Attempting a playful yet discreet reminder of an upcoming rendez-vous. the Manufacture’s watchmakers created the Rendez-Vous Sonatina, with a new -very useful- function; chimes at the appointed hour, thanks to the mysterious little star that can be moved around the dial. Aptly named “Sonatina”, a musical term for a short melody, it chimes in a low, delicate tinkle of a single hammer at the selected time. The watch’s adorns either a rose gold dress or a white gold one, its bezel, lugs and case rim set with amethyst shades and brilliant cut diamonds. The sensual dial emerges in captivating graduated hues, and conceals the meticulous workings of Jaeger-LeCoultre’s new 735 Calibre automatic movement, a homage by the Métiers Rares™ to the mists of time…
Rose gold makes a dramatic, first entrance on the Rendez-Vous Moon (36mm), the ultimate feminine timepiece down to its finest detail. Held by pink satin straps, its golden dial, burns with the brightness of a thousand fires. 26 diamonds nestle discreetly in a semi circle above the hour numbers, which in turn make way to be replaced by an exquisite pearl moon in a sky filled with stars. The Rendez-Vous Moon Medium, larger in size, in steel or rose gold, includes a moon phase, with its finely worked geometric guilloché appearing both on the dial and on the disk. This very feminine model also enjoys the subtle addition of a hand indicating the seconds. The moon phase function on both watches, with a time lag of only one day every 985 years, boasts ultimate precision.
The new Rendez-Vous, from movement to dial, unveils the secrets of watchmaking mastery at its finest, both in technique and artistry, giving women an intimate rendez-vous with time, from the moment they wake up to the sun’s soft rays, to falling soundly asleep under starry skies.
