A short walk from the DIFC Gate took us up to Four Seasons DIFC‘s Churchill Club, for the third part of our Mr. Ping Life Cigar World Tour Dubai Watch Week Edition series: a gathering of regional horology and cigar enthusiasts with Officine Panerai, in collaboration with Day&Night magazine and our dear friend Panerai Central. The evening was all about Panerai tourbillon watches and fine cigars: Ramón Allones Short Perfectos Exclusivo Italia, Partagas No.4, Hoyo de Monterrey Epicure No. 2.
With the suave voice of a lovely jazz singer setting the mood to this memorable night and the breathtaking views of Burj Khalifa in the background, Churchill Club was transformed into a Panerai museum, with horology books scattered around for guests to scroll through; watches showcased like pieces of art; collectibles on display including the oh-so-cool Panerai torpedo; and the brand’s Master Watchmaker Adriano Toninelli, who flew in from Neuchâtel, giving guests the run down of some of the timepieces and detailing their key features to curious aficionados.
The DNA of Officine Panerai’s watches is a well defined one: Italian design merged with Swiss technology -the best of both worlds! The brand has come a long way since its inception in Florence in 1860; its Radiomir and Luminor collections have become icons in the industry, with their unmistakable codes that are proper to the brand: the shape of the cases, the wide-sized indicators in the dial, the sea inspiration…
