At our first sit down with CEO of Bulgari Jean-Christophe Babin during Baselworld 2019, the man who turned the Italian jewellery marque into the hyped watch brand it is today and who introduced what could be a future icon in men’s watches, tells us in details what, other than it being the thinnest ever chronograph in the watch world, makes the record-winning Octo Finissimo Chronograph GMT Automatic so groundbreaking.
The Octo Finissimo Skeleton Ceramic, made of black ceramic and boasting a skeletonized dial features a high performing movement, and is fitted with the ultra-thin black ceramic Finissimo bracelet. A simple yet complex timepiece.
Mr. Babin also introduced us to the new Serpenti Seduttori, a collection that truly seduces with its sexy yet elegant design. All dressed in gold, these women’s watches are the latest interpretation of Bvlgari’s icon of seduction. The famous drop shaped watch head -yes, it does bear resemblance to a serpent’s head, a beautiful one at that- connects with a sensual, “scaled” bracelet. The high jewellery version dons diamonds and emeralds on its head, for that extra luxury aspect, hiding the dial underneath its movable case cap.
Going all-thin and all-gold, Bulgari is clearly leading the Italian Renaissance of watchmaking with its daring and beautiful timepieces. We want more!
